SBI wrote on Twitter from its official Twitter account that customers receive their Aadhaar card and PAN card connected to avoid any interruptions. “We advise our customers to link their PAN with Aadhaar to avoid any interruptions,” read the tweet.

It is not the first time that such advice has come from the central bank of the Indian public sector. It cites linking PAN with the Aadhaar card as a bond, previously setting its deadline to 30 September 2022. However, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it later increased the deadline to 31 March 2022.

Aadhaar card and the PAN card not connected

The reason for the connection is that if the Aadhaar card and the PAN card are not connected, the latter will not work. As a result, people will not be able to use PAN cards for purchase purposes.

Connecting Aadhaar card to PAN via SMS

1: Go to your new message screen on your phone. Type: UIDPAN

2: Send it to 567678 or 56161. Also successfully connect your PAN and Aadhaar card. To verify that the number you are sending the message to is your Aadhaar registration number. Follow the second method.

Linking Aadhaar card to PAN via the Income Tax site

1: Step 1: First, you need to go to the official Income Tax of India website using this URL:
2: On the home page, you will see ‘Quick Links’ on the left side of the page. The second option from above is ‘Connect Aadhaar’. Click that.
3: You will be redirected to a new page where you need to enter your name, PAN card number, and Aadhaar card number.
4: Enter the captcha code and press the OTP button
5: Install OTP and click on the ‘Connect Aadhaar’ button. That’s all. You have linked your PAN card to your Aadhaar number.
